American “double standards” are questioned, and pro-Palestinian demonstrations spread in colleges and universities across the United States!

“Pro-Palestinian protests have swept across American university campuses.” The Associated Press said on the 23rd that after students from Columbia University in New York (hereinafter referred to as Columbia University) held a demonstration on campus and were dispersed and arrested by the police, the school, Harvard and Yale Large-scale protests broke out in more than 20 well-known universities to express dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s diplomatic favoring of Israel. A wave of pro-Palestinian protests broke out at many universities in the United States at the end of last year. In January this year, American politicians pressured the presidents of the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), Harvard University and MIT to resign as punishment for their failure to handle protesting students, triggering controversy over freedom of speech in American society. Today, the U.S. government and university authorities ordered the police to enter university campuses to disperse and arrest peaceful protesting students, which has aroused the anger of a large number of students and faculty. After the outbreak of a new round of large-scale conflicts between Palestine and Israel, the United States continued to favor and provide military assistance to Israel. It bears unshirkable responsibility for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and has been widely criticized by the American people and the international community. In response, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken argued at a press conference to release the so-called “2023 National Human Rights Report” on the 22nd that the United States does not have “double standards” on human rights issues. Finucane, senior adviser to the International Crisis Group’s U.S. program, dismissed the U.S. statement as “hypocritical.”
